Cannon River Winery

The Cannon River Winery is located in Cannon Falls just off Hwy 52 as you head south from the Cities to Rochester.  I like this winery because they have a great selection of red, white, sweet, dry, and fruity wines.  They also have a delicious port wine.  The Cannon River winery also has an excellent tasting room.  Hang out at the bar or grab a table and go through their tasting menu. www.cannonriverwinery.com

Wine Tasting
Choose between the following:

• Full wine tasting for $12
• Staff favorites (collection of 8 wines) for $8
• Flight of your favorites (up to 3 wines) for $6

They also have cheese available for purchase to enjoy as you go through the wine tasting. 

My favorite: 



This is a semi-dry red with medium body.  This one is excellent with steak or pasta or just for sipping after supper. 


I also have to give a shout out to the Bootlegger Port.  My husband and I have a particular fondness for port wines and this is one of our favorites. This is wonderful with chocolate cake or a dark chocolate bar. 



Cannon Falls
Take time to explore Cannon Falls after you stop at the winery.

Right across the street is Mill Street Tavern which features wraps, salads, sandwiches, burgers, steak, and pasta dishes. 

Take a walk along the Cannon River.  The trail is visible from the winery.  This is definitely convenient if you did the full wine tasting :)
