Lake Calhoun

Lake Calhoun is beautiful.  And it's a wonderful place to hang out and relax.  My husband and I spent the evening there yesterday and watched the sun set.  We just went for a long walk, but you can also lay out on the beach, grab a bite to eat at Tin Fish, rollerblade/bike,  rent a kayak, or veer off the path and explore Uptown.  Perfect location for a night out.  Lake Calhoun was on my summer bucket list and thankfully, last night turned out to be a wonderful evening to be outside.

Lake Calhoun is located in Uptown and has a perfect 3.1 mile (5K) walking path around the lake.  I love that the bike path and walking path are separate.  We parked on the south side and walked around the lake until we got to Tin Fish.  Tin Fish is similar to Sea Salt at Minnehaha Falls.  They specialize in all kinds of wonderful fish dishes.  Sandwiches, tacos, fried fish... But they also have some really different and fun appetizers.  Check them out.  They also serve beer and wine on the patio, but a snack purchase is required.  I see they conveniently have peanuts for 50 cents :) .

Oh and did I mention that Tin Fish faces west so you can watch the sun set over the lake?  Yeah...

It was fun to see the sun set as we walked back to the car.  We even got a good view of the sunset on the Minneapolis skyline.
