Four Daughters Winery

Four Daughters Winery & Vineyard, located southeast of the Rochester/Stewartville area, is definitely one of my favorites.  Both for the ambiance and for the wines that they produce.  They have a nice mix of white and red wines; most of them tend toward the sweeter side of the spectrum.  I do prefer sweeter wines in the summer months, so it was perfect to stop at Four Daughters on Sunday and stock up a little bit.  My favorite of their wines are the Frontenac Gris and the Sparkling Pinot Noir, but they have many other delicious styles.  Very crisp flavor, very refreshing.  You can do a wine tasting for $5, which I highly recommend.  For a small extra fee, you can also try their dessert wine which comes in a chocolate shot glass.  The wines are excellent, but the tasting room and grounds round out the experience with beautiful modern architecture, a patio overlooking the vineyard, and plenty of space for patrons to sip wine and visit.  They even do special four course dinners with wine pairings on Thursday nights for $55.  I'm hoping to try this at some point this year.

Cheers!
